Andrew Rosser, Professor of Southeast Asian Studies at the University of Melbourne, has done an amazing job of compiling information about Australia’s Diaspora policy, and the many roadblocks that stand in the way for better engagement with the Australian Diaspora.
Within this article, Professor Rosser examines the current state of play, including recent legislation changes regarding Diaspora Policy, the case for a more substantial and thought out diaspora policy, how Australia can better leverage it’s Diaspora, and the reasons why the Australian government has thus far failed to adopt a proper policy.
