Satellite Events

The 2022 Global Australian Awards were celebrated around the global with satellite in-person generously hosted by Advance board members and supporters. 

CANBERRA 

Dinner with Advance supporters was hosted by Advance Board members, Gary Quinlan AO (diplomat and former Ambassador to Indonesia) and the Hon. Wyatt Roy (Tech Council Executive Director, and former Assistant Minister for Innovation).

LONDON 

The broadcast was shown live over morning tea at the Royal Over-Seas League in St. James’s. Award finalists, and leading local Australians were hosted by Advance’s UK Ambassador, Jeannie Lopes, and Advance Chair, Andrew Low.

NEW YORK

Advance GameChangers joined a fun-filled evening (with costumes!) kindly hosted by UOW Vice Chancellor and 2021 Advance GameChanger, Professor Patricia M. Davidson, for East Coast US-based UOW Alumni and supporters.

SAN FRANCISCO 

The broadcast was shown at a private lunch hosted by Advance board member, Dr Chris Boshuizen (2014 Global Australian of the Year). Generously hosted by Withers Bergman LLP, with support from DCVC and Aussie Recruit, this event brought together Advance supporters.

SINGAPORE 

Guests watch the broadcast then enjoyed a wine tasting at the Singapore satellite event hosted by Joseph Kwok, a member of the Advance board and the Awards judging panel. This event was kindly supported by University of Newcastle, LendLease and Petersons Wines.

SYDNEY

The broadcast was shown to award finalists, presenters and Advance supporters at the Sydney Startup Hub. The reception was a perfect opportunity to connect with some remarkable locals.
